Editorial Design
I love to design for print. I think that the cover of a book can take on a narrative all it’s own when it is done correctly. This also rings true for the layout and design of the content within. Great design makes for memorable, meaningful content.
The Growler Magazine
The Growler is BC’s best Craft Beer Guide. They release 4 issues a year. I was hired to create 4 covers for their run in 2016. The Growler had very specific style in mind with regards to the look and feel of their magazine which I emulated to the fullest. This included a specific palette and the use of distressed texture in any illustrations.

Growler Magazine Issue 1: Ship in a (Growler) Bottle
This was a play on the idea of a ship in a bottle, but with a focus on craft beer.
Growler Magazine Issue 2: Psychedelic Visions
The client was looking for something that was psychedlic and akin to a kaleidoscopic effect.
Growler Magazine Issue 3: An Autumn Evening
I strove to evoke a tranquil autumn sunset, coupled with the flow of a tapped cask of beer.
Growler Magazine Issue 4: Lost Astronaut
This issue was a throwback to the Growler’s inaugural issue which featured a hop-like spaceship. We wanted to continue that storyline to feature the astronaut’s journey this time around.
